[He’s lived in “fear” for a while during his captivity. Dealing with that again isn’t something he wants to experience. Not that he’s a fool who rushes headlong without heeding the risks. But he also can’t just dwindle away into nothing out of worrying over what may or may not be there. This place doesn’t seem to want to kill them. It’s… just perverted. There are worse things… right?
If anything, he’s not feeling any affects other than relief at getting out of the heat and taking down the cool drink. As far as he’s concerned, if he does start to feel strange, going back to his quarters is the best option. Part of him figures Sabo, being a military man of sorts and an obviously polite guy, will probably offer to walk him back. So that gives him some consolation on not getting jumped if he’s buzzed.]
Do what you feel is safe for you. That’s the best thing for any of us. [It’s a sound decision from the revolutionary though. Sort of like the designated driver at a bar with friends. Someone’s got to be the level-headed one in case the others go out of control. It’s a leadership quality, something Shiro recognizes almost immediately.] You must have had people under you back in your world.
